Another beautiful day and yesterday's eyeshadow :)

Ever since thursday it's been absolutely wonderful weather here so I have been trying to enjoy it as much as possible (even though I work all weekend). Didn't get a chance to take too many pictures of my makeup from yesterday but it's not like I did anything riveting worth documenting.

I decided to use a product I am very torn about, NARS Mykonos cream eyeshadow. I love the colour of it - it is right up my alley, a beautiful light bronzy plum - but the application is just a hot mess. It creases within the hour and you have to apply it in thin layers otherwise it gets goopy. The only way I can get it to stay on and not crease as much is to use Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath... so that's exactly what I did! Lasted for about 4 hours but hey - better than nothing! Here's the finished look:

NARS Mykonos cream eyeshadow (all over the lid)
NARS Fez eyeshadow (outer corner)
Bare Minerals Nude Beach loose eyeshadow (inner half)
MAC Feline eyeliner
Eyeko Big Eyes mascara (I love this but it's so hard to remove!)

I also tried to take an artsy photo with my iPhone of one of the high windows in my house showing green trees and blue skies... I forgot I had purchased this app called Camera Bag and it has a ton of cool effects. It wasn't pricy and has lots more options than Instagram and other free camera apps out there.

Okay time to shut up now. Hope you are having a great weekend!

  1. I have one of the NARS cream shadows and I never use it because it just doesn't stay on. I will have to try it with the primer potion.

  2. Oh i was about to order Mykonos cream eyeshadow, are they that bad ?:P

  3. @Elly
It's a beautiful colour but honestly it's not worth the hassle. It's really similar to Sable by MAC. Maybe if you have quite dry eyelids it will have better staying power on you :) xo

  4. That is a really beautiful color. Too bad the formulation isn't up to par, though. I might try it though, because I love cream shadows.

  5. Love these eye look. I have the exact same issue with creasing of all the NARS cream shadows and have tried every primer known to man to get them to not crease. :) I did find one that works and its the NARS primer. Sort of pricey but it is the only one that has worked on me. Not sure if you have it or if you can get a small sample and try it. The primer itself is very boring...just plain coreless primer simmilar to UD primer potion but it keeps these from creasing.

  6. I have corfu and it's really not worth it. I wanted to love it, but it doesn't do much, plus it's so creasy.
