Lusting for summer...

It's still 3 degrees Celsius at night here.
Apologies for sounding like a grandma complaining about the weather every time I blog, but it's just pissing me off.

So I'm just holed up in my room, avoiding going out and spending money (I almost bought a gray sequined sweater at Banana Republic but then I told myself May is near... what am I thinking?) so instead I am sitting on my bed wishing for the following items:

Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #2

perfect light cardigan for summer (by A.L.C.)

Barbara Bui sandals *sigh*

paneled tank by Vena Cava

I also need a new powder foundation.

Have any of you tried Laura Mercier mineral foundation before? I swatched it today and I loved the texture, but any feedback on staying power?

  2. The Laura Mercier mineral powder is fantastic, it gives a flawless natural finish. However, on oily skin it will only last a few hours before you look shiny, so I definitely recommend using the Laura Mercier mineral primer underneath. That will make the foundation last all day! xxx

  3. I think Tanya Burr talks about that foundation in this video

  4. I am lemming the Laura Mercier foundation too, i really wish to know if it's good on oily skin...And i think it's also hard to get colour matched. We have a similar skintone, so let me know which one you chose if you get it. GAP has light nice cardigans, as a good cheap alternative.

  5. Hi girls,
I've got LM mineral powder a year ago and it is very good, medium coverage foundation and gives very good radiant finish, HOWEVER I do not think it photographs well at all, and if you are very oily like me, then you would have to blot every 3 hours like with most of the foundations. I found that when I reapplied it didn't look nice. Over all its a good product but its not amazing ;)

    hope this helps xx

  6. I had the Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #2 a long time ago and now it's back on my wishlist.. Gorgeous colour.. Makes you look all bronzed up minus the bronzer =P

The LM mineral powder is also on my wishlist.. But We don't have it here in Dubai so it's kinda hard to find the right shade online..

  7. I have the LM foundation. It's very nice but it doesn't cover mu blemishes (when I have some). I would say it's light coverage trying to be medium but not.
I use it on top of my Origins VitaZing and it's perfect.
On it's own unfortunately it doesn't last long.
I'm not sure I will repurchase.
    I hope this helps.
    X

  9. Laura Mercier products are the only ones that don't break me out. Love all their stuff. You should try some of their other stuff too.

  10. I have the LM mineral foundation, I would say it has medium coverage and staying power. I still use a concealer for any areas I really want to cover & then top it with this. What I like is that it doesn't look like you're wearing powder or a mask, it has more of a natural somewhat dewy finish. If you have oily skin you may not like that, I have combination skin and it still works for me. I would give it a thumbs up.

  14. The LM mineral foundation gives a really luminous finish. My skin leans oily, so I haven't really tried it before, but I plan on trying it next. I have to suggest the Bare Minerals Matte. It has more coverage from what I can tell, and is better for oily skin. Hope you find a good spring/summer foundation :) xx Lauren

  15. I think LisaLisaD1 on youtube uses that foundation and she has some very thoughtful reviews on it. You can go and check.

  17. The Laura Mercier Mineral foundation is amazing! I use it every single day because it's quick and has great coverage (I use the Sephora Mineral Powder brush for more coverage because my skin is blotchy). If you wanted a lighter coverage though, a regular powder brush gives a really nice look too. I just use my concealer under it. Definately give it a try :).

  18. The Laura Mercier Mineral Powder is amazing and the lasting power is REALLY great! I'm from Rio de Janeiro and I can say that it had survive hot summer days beautifully! I normally use it with a powerfull SPF lotion underneath. I find that it makes a difference to have something on so the powder can stick to it a little... Very buildable coverage as well. It also has something that gives the skin a nice, healthy glow! I would say: go for it! :)

  19. If it makes you feel any better about the weather, I was stricken this weekend by how closely you and Pippa Middleton resemble each other! Have you ever heard that before? It's uncanny!

  22. Laura Mercier Mineral powder ists such a good foundation, also for dry or oily skin. I have normal to dry skin and it works perferct. my friend has very oily skin, and it is also perfect on her. staying power on normal skin: 6-8 hours and oily skin: up to 6 hours, with laura mercier mineral primer more than 6 hours.

  23. I am a great fan of Laura Mercier foundation, but regrettably, the mineral foundation was a letdown for me:( I'm from Malaysia, and in the hot humid weather, this foundation does not manage to stay on from more than 3 hours~~ it is light-medium coverage.
When I was back in Australia, where the climate is very dry and rather cool, it seemed to emphasise the dryness in my skin...so, it didn't work either way:( However, I have not tried the LM mineral foundation with the mineral primer yet, so that may just be what I have been missing..~
I'm looking to try Bare Minerals, probably Matte, next~~

  24. I haven't tried the LM foundation specifically because I've heard it's not great for oily skin. I absolutely love Jane Iredale's powder base, though, and for a cheaper option, I often use Covergirl's Fresh Complexion Pocket Powder.
