Late summer lovin'

Just two things I want to quickly share with you before I run off to relax and enjoy this amazing beautiful day that I have off from work ----- just kidding, it's most likely going to rain today and I'm headed to a dentist appointment but hey, it's still my day off so let's continue, shall we?

I'm a creature of habit, and I have entered the familiar "end of summer" zone in which I'm extremely lazy with my makeup, unsatisfied with my hair colour, hate all my nail polishes and sink into the comforts of my favourite late August scent, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.

I'm not even going to try describing this to you, but if you haven't smelled it because you've been hiding under a boulder the past few years, it's a very popular scent that is feminine and sophisticated and I resort to it mostly in the evenings ranging from late August to October.

As for the nails - I feel stupid rocking the pastels of spring, and I don't want to start the permanent stain of deep reds, blacks and purples just yet so I'm opting for neutrals. They never fail me when I'm in a "nail rut". They always look polished and sophisticated. On my nails today is "Topless and Barefoot" by Essie but Samoan Sands and Tickle my France-y by OPI are also beautiful, as is Essie's Sugar Daddy for a sheer wash of pink. I'm also really into the slightly more oval nails coming back into fashion since the squared off nail shape makes my fingers look like shovels most of the time.

  2. I think the neutrals are nice and i especially love this essie nail polish, however, i will not stop to wear my beautiful pastels or brights on my nails just because autumn is around the corner and you should not feel stupid :D just my opinion!

  3. Coco Mademoiselle is one of my fav scents! Love your little posts, Sandra! :) The neutral nail polish look is very chic, that's what I usually wear when I cannot decide what to wear on my nails (red polish works for that as well). I'm sporting round shaped nails also after watching Lisa Eldridge's video!

  5. @cookiemonster in the fall my hands get SO pale, none of the pastels I have look good against it, unfortunately. SOMETIMES essie's Fiji gets exposure... but only sometimes haha

  12. If you're worried about your nails looking odd against pale hands, try OPI's Barefoot in Barcelona! It's one of my favorite colors, it never makes my hands look too mannequin-like :)

  13. After reading this post I've just realised that I am definitely in the 'end of summer' zone. Hair is limp and uninteresting, nail colour lasts no more than 12 hours before I want to pick it all off, makeup is lazy and slap-dash and I really just want to start wearing coats again as I am constantly cold - but fear being judged!! So glad others get themselves into this slump too.

  14. Although I love coco madmoiselle, I think I prefer miss dior cherie just because it's more wearable all year round.

  17. Funny how I have the same nail color on right at this moment!! But I did add OPI's princesses rule! on top.
It adds such a beautiful subtle shimmer on any neutral colors I love it so much. Do you own Princesses Rule?
