It's been a while since I've done a FOTD post so here I go! I've been rather minimalistic these past few days. I'm slowly getting back into a semi-regular self tanning routine so I find that less makeup is usually better as the skin starts to get a bronzy glow. Mind you the bronzy glow is barely visible in these photos but hey... I'm starting small (I use the Clarins Liquid Bronze self tanner for the face).
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in shade 52 (trying to use this up!! It's OK but feels a bit too heavy for my liking... it also doesn't last that well on my oily skin).
I also used generous amounts of Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel to warm up the complexion. I used no blush because I wanted a brighter lip!
I set my makeup with Chanel Loose Powder (click here to read my review of it).
On the eyes I used a very thin and blended layer of Laura Mercier Burnished Copper. These metallic cream eyeshadows are so great. If you liked Constructivist by MAC, Burnished Copper is a slightly warmer, easier to work with option. It also has wonderful staying power and looks stunning by itself as well as with other eyeshadows. I'm contemplating purchasing another one of these soon! A little goes a long way and their packaging is more efficient than the MAC Paint Pots since it's more airtight and won't dry out as quickly.
For mascara I went back to an old favourite, Prestige My Blackest Lashes (which you can find at Rexall or London Drugs in Canada). No eyeliner on the top lash line, just some Stila Topaz eyeliner on the waterline.
On the lips I wore one of my favourite lipsticks - Impassioned by MAC. It's a gorgeous bright coral pink. The finish is Amplified so it can really pack a punch when applied straight from the tube. To tone it down, like I did today, I just dab it on the lips and rub it in with my fingers in order to create more of a stain. It lasts all day and is a bit more wearable.
I will be blogging a lot this week since I am off work and I am feeling super inspired, so stay tuned :)
Hope you're having a great week so far.
xx
Sandra

DeleteAnd... yet another example of why I need MAC Impassioned! Gorgeous look :)
ReplyDeleteyou really do!! it's sooooo beautiful
DeleteVery pretty as always!
ReplyDeleteThe cream eyeshadow looks lovely! I have very oily lids and always need to use a primer. Mac paint pots last only about 3 - 4 hrs and then start creasing on me.
Do you wear a primer underneath the cream eyeshadow? How long does it stay crease-free? <3
sometimes I wear a primer with these, sometimes I don't. without a primer it lasts a good 6 hours. with a primer it can go more than 8 hours! they're great.. they dry down to a powdery metallic finish, if that makes any sense!
DeleteThat sounds great! Will have to check them out at my local counter now. Alloy looks like my type of colour.
DeleteWhy so pretty?
ReplyDeleteHow do you apply the soleil tan de chanel? I cannot get mine right, it always turns out patchy.
ReplyDeleteuse a synthetic brush! I apply it with my sephora 55 brush and it looks great every time
DeleteOk I have that brush! Ill try it instead. Thanks!
DeleteThat lipstick looks gorgeous on you. I don't own any Mac lipsticks though, I often find them to be too drying on my lips.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Really want the Chanel bronzer!
ReplyDeleteyou look gorgeous! and everyone has been talking about laura mercier lately. i might have to take a trip down to the counter :)
