Fall Fashion Wishlist - Casual

It's been a while since I've done any sort of fashion/wishlist post but there have been some things that I have come across in terms of fashion that have been on my mind this fall. Here are some of the things I am eyeing this fall:

1. Rag & Bone Jeans. These come in a few different shade/texture combinations but the dark green is probably my favourite. I love the dark paneling on the side and the small lambskin detailing. Perfect for fall or for night time any season!

2. All Saints Silk Blend Tank. I love pieces like this for layering in the fall. Quality is amazing and will definitely last you into the warmer seasons as well :)

3. All Saints Damisi Boots in Asphalt. Drool. That is all.

4. All Saints Black Wool & Leather Sleeves Cardigan. All Saints is killing it this winter. This cardigan is to die for. Edgy and dark - I can see myself wearing this for a lonnnnng time.

5. Forever21 Necklace. Big statement necklaces are fun to switch up a more classic neutral outfit. Especially for me in the fall when I tend to wear higher necklines. Throw on one of these shiny pieces to add a bit of spice :)

6. Forever21 Colorblock sweaters. I just saw these online last week and I think they'd make great everyday sweaters for school or a casual fall day.

In terms of makeup I'm really loving matte red lip colours and DITCHING the fake tan! *gasp*

What are you eyeing this fall/winter?

Hope all my readers on the East Coast are staying safe through the storm.

Bright Lips On A Rainy Day

One of the easiest way to cheer myself up on a dark and rainy day is to bust out the bright lipstick. This fall, Hourglass came out with their new range of matte liquid lipsticks called Opaque Rouge... aaaaand they're amazing.

I mentioned my love for the shade "Canvas" before on my YouTube channel, but this time the shade Muse has all the attention. These lip products go on smoothly like a gloss (with a doe foot applicator) and immediately dry to a perfectly matte finish.

They feel lightweight and comfortable on the lips. The product does tend to bunch up close to the inside of the lips throughout the day so a good exfoliation beforehand is key. Here is Muse in all its glory:

You literally have to scrub this off with makeup remover at the end of the day. Staying power is awesome. Since the colour is so loud (and I love love love it), I kept the rest of the makeup very minimal and just wore a bit of light brown eyeshadow in the crease, a bit of bronzer and liquid liner.

I highly recommend these lipsticks if you're on the search for something bold and matte to switch things up.

What are your favourite bold lipsticks?

Braided Hair & Nail Polish... (and a Revlon Giveaway!)

Happy Monday! Well, maybe less happy and more grumpy. It's raining and quite gloomy here today - the kind of weather that makes you want to stay in bed as long as humanly possible.

When I'm pressed for time and I have to do my hair, the trusty side braid is the only way forward. Here's one of my favourite ways to switch it up. It's simple and absolutely perfect for squeezing an extra day of wear out of your hair (just make sure to dry shampoo your roots).

Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel

I am also giving away some beautiful shades of Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel this month to 10 lucky readers. The shade I am wearing in the video is called Orient Express (which I paired with a Revlon Nail Art Stencil for a fin extra little something). These polishes go on so well - opaque in 2 coats and they literally do not need a top coat since they dry so quickly.

Make sure you comment on this post with you e-mail address/twitter username if you'd like to be entered to win one of their new shades for this fall/winter :)

On my face today... (Get Ready With Me)

Here's a peek at the current state of my makeup bag and what products have been under heavy rotation as of late:

I can't say enough good things about the new Clarins Mineral eyeshadows - they are so easy to work with and are a dream to work with and blend. I have my eye on a few more shades :)

As for the YSL Touche Eclat... I finally caved and purchased this cult highlighter pen last week. The texture really is wonderful and it's great to have in your bag for touch ups and a quick pick-me up after a long work day.

Here's a quick video of my go-to look this month. My friend Rachel inspired me to actually do a little something with the editing :)

Lip Product Of The Moment

If you follow my random ramblings on Twitter you've probably already heard me profess my love for this lip product. So here it goes again, with better photos!

This fall season I've embraced a makeup look that deviates a bit from my usual "cool toned purple taupe eyeshadow and nude lips" comfort zone. I've been wearing (and loving) lots of warm brown/bronze shades on the eye and embracing a slightly more defined lip. I started getting into lip liners - and a post on that will come soon - and I wanted an easy everyday "red" type of lipstick that was low maintenance and perfect for fall.

Ding ding ding, enter YSL into the ring.

I was perusing the aisles of Sephora last month and finally decided to take a closer look at their Volupte Sheer Candy range. They are, as the name suggests, very sheer yet buildable tinted lip balms with a very highly glossy finish. They are less pigmented than YSL Rouge Pur Shine lipsticks and even glossier.  When they first came out I remember trying a pale shade on and I was very disappointed, so I never really went back to check them out. They are also less pigmented than Revlon Lip Butters but glossier and more hydrating.

This time I felt "adventurous" and decided to actually give the darker shades a whirl. I tried a couple of shades in store and walked out with #7 "Sweet Fig". This, my friends, is my perfect easy red for fall :)

The packaging is to die for, as expected from YSL. The colour is lovely and warm, not too bright, and works well on my naturally pigmented lips.

These aren't exactly marathon lipsticks (they are marketed as lip balms after all) so longevity isn't something I expect, but it does leave a nice stain behind and wears well, but they are meant to be reapplied throughout the day and they're so pretty and go on so smooth, I happily oblige :)
It's low maintenance and something I enjoy using throughout the day, thus worth the splurge in my opinion.

Hope your week is going well!

xx
