Ah, January. The month of resolutions, the month of fresh starts, the month of... pretty new Spring makeup collections being released into the wild!!!
I'm writing this post letting you know that I will be on my best behaviour this month and spend some time showing some love to the things I already own. I found myself frantically starting to make SO MANY lists of new things to check out but I had to slow my roll because
a) I'd like to save some money
b) those lipsticks/eyeshadows/whatevers will most likely still be there in a month and if I honestly can't stop thinking about them, I will purchase later
c) I HAVE NO ROOM
d) using products up makes me happy
e) this can apply to clothes as well
A spending "diet" is much needed for me this month.
This means that this month's posts and videos will be geared more towards reviews/favourites/some tutorials/showing you some of my trusty go-to eyeshadow combinations, etc.
Hope you're on board :)
PS:
I've gotten many tweets asking me what outfit/makeup I had on for New Years Eve. I hadn't planned on doing a post with a complete look since I was rather rushed and it was a hectic day but I did manage to take a bathroom mirror photo at my friend's house, so you can get an idea :)
top - Zara (old)
belt - Nicholas (link)
skirt - Herve Leger (link)
bracelets - Tiffany's (beaded silver), Henri Bendel (rose gold), Pandora (silver)
Paired with dark pumps and Essie Smokin' Hot on my nails.
For makeup I wore MAC Constructivist Paint Pot and Club eyeshadow all over the lid, with some Urban Decay Tease in the crease and some Burberry Taupe Brown in the outer corner.
I got made fun of because of my phone case a lot, which cost almost $4 and was from Ebay haha...
I'm on a 100 day spending ban. Send help!

Very cute outfit! I should be on a spending diet as well, but I'm gonna be honest...there are a lot of things I want that have come up around Xmas time and I don't know if I can hold back. Good luck to you ;)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with this! I'm putting myself on a budget as well this year (New Year's resolution), so I'll be doing my best to use up and appreciate the collection I have already as well. It will be tough, but rewarding, I think. Looking forward to some new tutorials :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

I'm trying to do the same thing but Sephora gave me a 10% off coupon with my silver VIB card...yes, I have a problem. Thankfully it's good for 90 days. I'm trying not to spend on makeup, skincare, nail polish or clothes in January at the very least. I just organized all of my "stuff" and realized I have a serious problem and need to stop buying until I use up a lot of the products I have open. Good luck with the no spend.
ReplyDeleteIm trying to spend less on beauty products and use up what I have. I have a medium sized collection of products but I'd love to get it down to the bare minimum. So from January onwards its operation 'Use up what Ive got' It will be interesting to see how much money I save by not spending money on the latest hyped product!

ReplyDeleteAh, you know what I was doing before catching up on blog posts? Checking the spring collections, so, yeah... Needless to say, that part of my collection is sitting inside... Ferrero Rocher boxes, so, I truly sympathize with the lack of space!!!
Ok, ok, no more excuses, I'll try to be more sensible too from now on.. (sucks that the winter sales start next Tuesday though - perhaps one pair of jeans for spring...?). Ok feel free to say FAIL to me next time on twitter, lolol!
