Loafin' Around

I am in the market for a new versatile, quality flat shoe and loafers have kiiiiiinda been stealing my heart as of late. They're more structured and supportive than my first love, the ballet flat, and this upcoming season they come in so many gorgeous styles I don't even know where to begin. While I ponder over styles and colours, here are my top picks skimming painful and budget-friendly categories:

left to right:     Giuseppe Zanotti //     Sam Edelman      //           Giuseppe Zanotti

left to right: Steven by Steve Madden      //           Miu Miu      //         Boutique 9 (on sale! yay!)

My personal favourites are the ones with some sort of metallic cap toe action. Some come with bows - an unexpected feminine touch on a "masculine" style of shoe. You can wear them to the office with tailored trousers and a blouse, you can wear them with skinnies, a sundress, shorts... you name it!

I was || this close to ordering the Steven Steve Madden ones but they are currently sold out of my size. Womp.

How do you feel about loafers for the fall?

  1. I really like loafers and I wear them more than ballet flats, but I definitely think they need some kind of detail or pattern like you described. My first pair I bought are a plain black pair from Steve Madden and I studded them myself because they are a nice classic shape and very versatile but they needed some pizzazz!

  2. I have a pair of the Sam Edelmans at the top. They are super comfortable and give your outfit a long, lean line, but they also start looking shabby after about a year. Mine have worn significantly around the edges and just look patchy and old. Just a heads up if you're still interested. : ) I have loved these shoes, but I probably wouldn't pay for them again.

  3. Ahh, these are all great and would be perfect for Fall. I think I like the Guiseppe Zanotti options best! xo

  4. i love loafers too but feel like i need to try them on to make sure i can pull them off. unlike ballet flats these seem to be harder to rock for some reason! i'm currently eyeing a pair from chinese laundry that looks really similar to your steve madden ones, except the chinese laundry ones are suede and don't have the metallic toe point.

  7. I love the steve madden shoes. I really like loafers but always go for suede and they get ruined! Need to invest in some leather ones.

  8. I love the Guiseppe Zanotti ones you posted. I love the navy which is something different from your standard black shoe and the gold cap toe xo

  9. You took the words right out of my head. I love the look of a good ballet flat, but even a very structured version doesn't always feel professional in the office. My search lead me to a pair of ASOS MILLER Flat Shoes in Black a few weeks ago and I have worn them everyday since they arrived. I wear US 5.5 and bought the 5. They feel true to size and are very comfortable to walk in. I did get them on sale for about $30. High recommend! It looks like the oxblood and black studded are on sale right now for $24! :)

  11. I myself are in awe with loafers. I find Steve Madden to be uncomfortable so I lean toward Sam Edelman but as of now I am on my way to Nordstrom to get a pair of Ivanka Trump 'Carla' flat.
