I was inspired this morning by a tutorial I had seen a couple of days ago on Charlotte Tilbury's blog. She's a joy to watch on YouTube and I love her work as a makeup artist. Sadly her cosmetics line is not out in North America but I am patiently waiting for that day...
Anyways, the tutorial was simple and straightforward and accumulated all her tricks for eyes that look bigger, brighter and more lifted. Since she used all products from her own makeup line I couldn't re-create it 100% so I shopped my own makeup collection and added a brighter coral lip as an ode to spring. It's neat how a few small adjustments to the way you place eyeliner/shadow can make such an impact on the entire face. Here's the result:
I used Estee Lauder Double Wear Eye Pencil - in the tutorial Charlotte uses a dark navy blue. I only had black so I pushed some navy blue eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner to set it and to add a touch of blue.
Stila Eyeliner in Topaz on the waterline, along with Urban Decay Tease eyeshadow in the crease, Burberry Taupe Brown in the outer corner and Laura Mercier Morning Dew eyeshadow on the inner quarter of the lid. Mascara: L'Oreal Volumious Butterfly.
For rest of the face:
Anastasia Brow Wiz (Ebony)
Dior Nude Concealer (shades #1 and #2)
Dior Nude Bronzer (#2)
Burberry Blush (Earthy)
NARS Satin Lip Pencil (Lodhi)
And because it's been on my mind all weekend, one of my favourite songs by music artist Bright Eyes:
Have a great Saturday.
