The Five Product Face

I enjoy reading people’s "5 product face" posts but always scoff at them thinking I’m such a product junkie I’d never manage with just five products. Well… guess what… this week I accomplished my very own "5 product face". It’s a simple makeup look that I’ve been sporting to work on a daily basis. I appreciate the fact that It makes me look put together (read: I don’t look like I got hit by a train) and it lasts all day! Here are my 5 picks:

  1. Vichy Dermablend Foundation Stick (15 Opal). I just picked this up recently and it’s awesome. I somehow keep getting paler even though it’s April and this suits my skin tone perfectly. I dab it on and blend it in with a damp beautyblender sponge. It’s buildable or it can be sheered out as needed. The finish is satin and the coverage lasts all day without looking ratchet.
  2. L’oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. Current mascara of choice.
  3. By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. Blends out well, lasts all day on my oily eyelids without needing a primer and offers just the right amount of colour and shine to make the eyes stand out.
  4. Anastasia Brow Wiz (ebony). Eyebrows frame the face. If I don’t have them done, I feel incomplete (cue the dramatic violin music). This thing is amazing. End of story.
  5. Burberry Light Glow Blush (Earthy). Contour and blush all in one. Brings liveliness and structure to the face, and a hint of warmth. If you have light-medium skin, you need this in your life.

What are your five go-tos at the moment?

  1. I'm in my final year of undergrad and its the last week of the semester so my skin is beyond awful. Therefore have no time for makeup. Ain't nobody got time to impress.

Mac tinted eye brow gel (not that great... but I'll use it up)
Nivea Lip butter (awesome and I know you know it)
Origins super spot remover (I'm really thinking of getting the Paula's choice one you've been mentioning)

    :) xx

  2. Love your picks.....lovely post....xoxoxo....:)

  3. Burberry makes lovely makeup :)

  4. Firstly, great photograph Sandra the products look fab and I love how you arranged them! (I'm such a Virgo noticing things like that! Ha!)

Using just 5 products scares the living daylights out of me, I use way too many things on my face when doing my make up! I am however, going to try!

My five go-tos at the moment are Hourglass Blush in Luminous Flush (perfect for Spring!), YSL Babydoll Mascara, MAC Patina (an oldie, but a goodie!) Chanel Les Beiges No.40 (a great recommendation from yourself!) and Tom Ford Lipstick in Spanish Pink.

  5. Lovely picks! The By Terry Ombre Blackstar shadows are on my wishlist and you're tempting me with that DermaBlend foundation. I've been thinking of doing a 5-product face post too... really makes you consider your most handy and versatile items! :)

  6. Do you find Earthy to be as fragranced as other Burberry blushes? I have Tangerine but almost never wear because the scent if so over powering to me. But I've been wanting to get Earth forever...

    1. ugh. sadly, yes. the fragrance of burberry face powder products is overpowering for me too

    2. (giggle) I guess you are mad at your beauty blender, Sandra! ;)

    3. LOL! DAMP. DAMP. not damn. *shakes head* I am angry, but not at the poor beauty blender. hahah

  7. As a fellow product junkie I can imagine how hard this was! I'm going to have to try this! Great post, thanks for sharing!

  8. Marcelle Golden Glow BB Cream, Rouge Bunny Rouge Blush in Starina, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light, Naked 3 Palette, Clump Crusher mascara, Anastasia Dipbrow pomade in Chocolate. OH NO! That's six, isn't it!? I guess I could skip the powder, yeah I definitely could, it's just a little in my t-zone...anyway those are my go-to's most days. Loving the Dipbrow, it's so amazingly pigmented, just incredible.

  9. Love the Dermablend stick. I use mine for concealing though as it's soooo pigmented! Great for nasty little red spots.

  10. I need to try some Vichy Dermablend products. I keep hearing good things about them!

  11. What an inspiring post :) my top 5 go-to's at the moment are: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, La Mer Translucent setting powder, Anastasia Brow Powder Duo, MAC Warm Soul, and Maybelline The Rocket Mascara.
