Weekend Wishlist: 29.06.14

Here's what I added to my ever-present shopping list this weekend:

This Givenchy clutch just went on sale on SSENSE and it's making me dizzy. I dreamt about it last night. I've been hunting for the perfect black envelope clutch for what feels like an eternity and this is a gorgeous (albeit indulgent) option.
Speaking of indulgent, has anyone seen the price of Tom Ford's bronzer? I thought I was hallucinating when I saw $95 but nope, this baby costs $95. I know it's a giant compact but I am having a hard time parting with so much money on a cosmetic product. Do you own this? Is it worth it? So many makeup artists I admire speak highly of this, I just have to think about it... I hit pan on all 3 bronzers I currently own sooooo maybe as a treat once I use them up? #justifications :)
Finally, Benefit's They're Real Push-up Liner has finally graced us with its presence. It's in stores internationally (Sephora being my weapon of choice) and I have to hand it to Benefit. The way they marketed and hyped up this product online was admirably effective. I want this eyeliner. And I want it now (even though the reviews on Sephora are quite crappy).

What's on your wishlist?

  1. I thik you get to treat yourself! Which makeup artist reccomended it? The Things I Can't Afford Label seriously made my night. I am currently lusting over some of the Wayne Goss Makeup Brushes and I think I might just pull the trigger when I go to the US next month. Any other products I should check out?

    1. you have to try some Le Metier De Beaute - their eyeshadows are to die for and I don't think the brand is available in the UK. They also make incredible lipsticks/lipglosses. Cle De Peau is a breautiful luxury brand that I don't think you guys get in the UK either but it definitely fits the "things I can't afford label". you have to buy the lipstick bullet and lipstick case separately, which is a pain in the ass.
I'm also pretty curious to try those Wayne Goss brushes!!

    2. Will definitely cheek out Le Metier de Beaute and Cle de Peau. I am excited to check out brands that we can’t get here but also ones that have major markups. If you think you get ripped off with Canadian prices, you should see some of the prices for cosmetics here in Chile, it’s a bit ridiculous. Excited to see the Wayne Goss Brushes, they look really nice and seem to be a good price point for the quality, brush #14 looks quite unique. Apparently the store that stocks Goss Brushes (Beautylish) is going to start stocking Chikuhodo as well. That for sure falls into the Things I Can’t Afford label, but I am still quite intrigued as I have heard good things about the brand and they seem to make some of the best Japanese brushes (they even make Suqqu brushes). This could be dangerous….

  2. I agree Benefit totally went to town with the launch of the push-up liner, and I want it so bad too! It does look like it would be incredibly easy to do eyeliner flicks with it though! Also Sandra $95 for that bronzer!!! If you can afford it I'd say get it but I bet there are similar ones out there that do exactly the same thing!

  4. Oh Sandra, that clutch is to die for! If I didn't have an Alexander Wang Prism one (also fairly plain but not an envelope style admittedly - justification for getting it too?! ha!) I'd snap this up, it's timeless and incredibly useful. You should get it. :)

With regards to the bronzer, I do own it and you're going to hate/love (delete as appropriate!) me for saying this, but you should get it. I own a few of the cult bronzers and this really is a beautiful bronzer. I have 'Golddust' and yes, at first I was put off by the glittery particles in it as I'm not normally a glittery lover and prefer my bronzers matte. However, this bronzer just looks so gorgeous and beautiful on, despite looking a little orangey in the pan it translates into a very natural look on the face, very radiant. I've heard Elle Macphereson is a huge fan of this bronzer and I can see why she always has a very natural look to her make up and this bronzer does just that. Sorry for going on and on but I was in the same mind as you before purchasing this bronzer and I'm so glad I did (I did get mine on eBay though at a great price but I would have paid full price for this all the same)

I hope this helps! Hope you're having a great weekend

  6. I've been thinking the same thoughts on the benefit liner...I just got an email in the states that rouge VIBs can use the code "pushup" to get a free 30 day sample. I'm going to go with that option before I shell out the money for the real thing. I'm hoping the reviews are by individuals that don't exactly know how to use the pen's new angled format, and that the product itself is decent. We shall see!

  7. Even if they get bad reviews, I can't help but try any new launch from Benefit!

  9. the benefit eyeliner is great. i have it. i've been using it for a week straight. and let me stress IT IS ALL ABOUT THE FLICK!

so you line your eye.. and then you flip the pen around and use the amazing tip to draw BACK on the flick.

it's so smooth and sharp. i mean yes there can be a LITTLE flaking. seriously minor but you just run the tip over the flake and the gel smoothes out.

    it's great. love it.

  11. The push up liner is something I have on my list, but I recently bought an eyeliner really similar from Maybelline and I’m going to wait until the hype dies down a little first before I take the plunge and spend £18 on an eyeliner!
